President Pro Tempore Joseph Scarnati (R., Jefferson) and other [State] Senate Republicans have introduced bills making it more difficult for illegal immigrants to receive public benefits, penalizing employers who hire them, and requiring law enforcement officers to report to federal authorities when illegal immigrants are charged with a crime.
Following up on Inga Saffron's note that the Inquirer building was up for sale, the Wall Street Journal notes a recent tendency of major papers to sell their real estate, in part to make up for the debt incurred during the purchase. Doesn't anybody just wait to make back their investment the normal, slow way? Sigh.
